Side Cut

Soooooo... remember a couple months back when I said I would be doing something big with my hair?

Wellllll, I did it! =)

I got a side-cut inspired by Ajda and Alice Dellal.

So, what do you guys think?

I absolutely love it. I can easily cover it up by parting my hair differently. 

I love how it gave me a brand new outlook in life.

The boy I was hung up on for NO reason now seems inconsequential. The things I used to stress about are no worries now. 

It has given me loads of confidence I knew I had somewhere deep down. 

I am a bad-ass.

DIY: 1st attempt

DIY

I tried my first attempt at doing a DIY project: space shoes.

Goth Reform School had a really great, step-by-step guide on making them.

You can see it for yourself here. 

I bought my acrylics, paintbrushes, and foam brush at JoAnns. 

I went to Walmart to look for a cheap pair of Ked's but couldn't find any in my size.

Instead, I got these kids size canvas shoes for $3. score. 

Note: I picked the cheapest set of paintbrushes ($2.99 for 3!). I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I may never use again. You save a lot of money going that route, but since the quality is crap, I found a lot of bristles falling off and getting on the shoe mixed with the paint. 

I actually liked the effect, but if you want a clean finish I would suggest spending more on brushes.

I do like how they turned out except for the white paint "splatters". I feel like I didn't get the "stars" image. It looks more like an intentional paint splatter look. 

I am planning on painting over and fixing/trying it again after asking Goth Reform School for some advice.

All in all, not a bad attempt. =)
